Harare man arrested after week-long manhunt over ZESA token dispute

A Harare man, Pablo Macdonald, is in police custody following a week-long manhunt after he was allegedly involved in the death of his neighbour during a dispute over a ZESA token.

The incident occurred on 1 June in Hatfield. Police say an argument broke out between Macdonald and his neighbour, Vincent Steblecki.

The confrontation allegedly escalated when Macdonald struck Steblecki with a brick, hitting him on the shoulder and the back of the head.

Steblecki died from his injuries the following day.

The case was reported to Braeside Police Station under RRB 6861127. Steblecki was laid to rest this past Friday.

Macdonald, who had been on the run since the incident, was apprehended by police yesterday after authorities found him hiding in a fowl run in Hatfield.

Police investigations are ongoing.
